FLOWTRANS has many years of experience in fluid dynamics, acoustics and turbomachinery:

  • Highly efficient and quiet fans of all types, axial wind turbines and special turbines are aerodynamically designed to customer specifications using methods and design programmes developed in-house. The design process usually ends with a 3D CAD model. FLOWTRANS also uses the numerical simulation of flows with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods. This work is carried out in cooperation with the company ISimQ. This allows, for example, the characteristic curves of new flow machines to be determined in advance with good reliability.


  • Other competences include the calculation and in-situ measurement of pressure losses in plants. This is important for dimensioning new plants or when guarantee values have not been reached.
  • Flow-induced vibrations and transient processes in systems can lead to damage or failure. Or they prevent operating the system with the specified performance parameters. FLOWTRANS analyses problems and helps to meet specifications.


  • FLOWTRANS is able to measure and assess flow-induced noise from turbo-machinery and components in-situ and, in many cases, recommend mitigation measures .


  • Further fields of work are the planning and acceptance of test stands, e.g. standard-compliant fan test rigs, patent analyzes, damage assessment.



Our CFD-partner ISimQ “Innovative Simulations with Quality” was founded in May 2016 by Paul Galpin, Thorsten Hansen and Georg Scheuerer. ISimQ' s services cover the whole simulation software life cycle from deploying software to developing best practice procedures, and ultimately driving innovation with projects that include custom model development, advanced multiphysics and robust design.
